BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Senior center Ally Beck was named the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week and junior Shelby Reyes was tabbed the defender of the week by the league office on Tuesday.
Beck earned tournament MVP honors in leading the fifth-seeded Terps to their first-ever ECAC Championship.
The senior notched 10 goals, including three in Sunday's championship-game victory over Iona, in the two-day tournament. Beck had three goals in Saturday's 11-10 upset win over top-seeded Princeton and a career-high tying four in the opening-round victory over No. 4 seed Marist earlier in the day.
Beck has scored a team-high 21 times this season and has averaged 3.5 goals over the last four games.
Reyes went the distance in net in all games of the eight-team annual event. The junior had nine saves, including four in the final quarter, in the opening-round win over Marist. She also turned away four shots in the upset win over Princeton, while chipping in two assists.
In Sunday's final vs. Iona, Reyes stopped nine shots, including three in the final quarter when the Terps overcame a deficit to post a 12-11 victory over the Gaels. She also assisted on a first-quarter goal in the finals.
The Terps head into CWPA Southern Division action Friday when they play at George Washington. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
