BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -
Meghan Powers was named the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week by the league office on Tuesday.
Powers scored eight goals in four games at last weekend's Wolverine Invitational, including career-high tying four in Saturday's 18-7 win over Gannon. The senior also had four steals, one assist and just three turnovers in the two-day tournament.
Powers and the 19th-ranked Terps (9-8) will be in California beginning Saturday for their annual spring break trip.
Maryland will play in the Lancer Invite #2 Saturday, facing California Baptist, the host school, and Occidental.
The Terps will then travel down the coast Sunday to play at San Diego State. They will also face Whittier at the Aztecs' home pool.
