BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - The Maryland water polo is in the national rankings for the first time this season after winning the 2011 ECAC Championship over the weekend.

The Terps (5-4), who have won four consecutive games, are 20th in the women's varsity poll which was released Wednesday.

Maryland, which was seeded fifth, captured its first-ever ECAC title by winning three games, including an upset of top-seeded Princeton in Saturday's semifinals and a championship-game victory over Iona Sunday.

The Terps head into CWPA Southern Division action Friday when they play at George Washington. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.

Following that game, the team will travel to Princeton, N.J., where it will face Marist (11 a.m.) and Hartwick (5:30 p.m.) Saturday and Indiana (1 p.m.) Sunday.
