BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Allison Campbell was named the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week and junior Shelby Reyes was tabbed the defender of the week by the league office on Tuesday.
Campbell posted eight goals in Maryland's four games, all victories, over the weekend as the Terps captured the CWPA Southern Division crown.
The sophomore had a game-high tying three goals in Friday's 13-5 win over George Washington. She scored a pair of goals, including the game winner, in Saturday's 7-5 triumph over Princeton and chipped in two in Sunday's 13-10 win over Brown. The victory over the Bears gave the Terps the outright division title.
Reyes was the winning goalie in both of her weekend appearances. She tallied nine saves in Saturday's 7-5 win over No. 17 Princeton. Reyes stopped a 5-meter penalty shot with 4:20 left in the game and made another key save with two minutes left.
The junior had one of her best performances the next day, posting a career-high 15 saves in a 12-10 victory over Harvard. Reyes had five saves in the third quarter, including one from point-blank range by Shayna Price with less than 30 seconds left in the period. With the Terps leading 12-9, Reyes turned away a breakaway chance by Christy DiSilvestro with 2:14 left in the game.
Katie Ermakova was nominated for the league's freshman of week award.
