OXFORD, Miss. - After shooting a team-best 71 on Friday, Jessica Hollandsworth is tied for 10th individually and the Maryland women's golf team is in sixth after Round Two of the Rebel Intercollegiate.
Hollandsworth, the Floyd, Va., native, fired off a one-under 71 in the first round before shooting a 75 along with teammate Hayley Brown, who is locked in a tie for 17th, to lead the Terps.
Christine Shimel shot her second consecutive 77 Saturday to tie her at 43rd, whiel Kerri Connolly improved on her first-round 81 with a 76. Hilary Lawson is tied for 54th after carding a 79 to give her 156 on the weekend.
Tennessee's Nathalie Mansson shot a round-low 67 to take sole possession of first place in the individual race. Fellow Volunteer Erica Popson is one stroke back at 140 for second place while Southern Mississippi's Virginia Espejo, who held the lead after Friday's first round, is in third at 141.
Maryland shot 303 as a team on Saturday after opening with 298 in the first round, placing them in sixth, two strokes ahead of Michigan and five strokes up on Tulane.
The Volunteers hold a heavy lead in the team race at 569, with Tulsa in second at 593. Coastal Carolina rounds out the top-three at 595.
The Rebel Intercollegiate will conclude Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Ole Miss Golf Course.
