GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Jessica Hollandsworth was named to the 2011 All-ACC Women's Golf team, the league office announced today. Hollandsworth has now earned three Atlantic Coast Conference honors in her three seasons while in College Park.
In the 2010-11 season, the junior from Floyd, Va., led the Terrapin women's golf squad in five total events, including all four tournaments in the spring.
Hollandsworth earned All-Tournament team honors at the Lady Pirate Invitational on Oct. 12 after tying for third individually and helping Maryland clinch the team title.
At the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate on Mar. 22, Hollandsworth shot a three-under 213 to place third and lead Maryland to one of its seven top-10 finishes. Maryland picked up three in the fall before placing no lower than eighth at any event in the spring.
Competing against the best within the conference, Hollandsworth again led the Terps with a fifth-place performance at the ACC Championship on Apr. 17. Hollandsworth shot par in two of the tournament's three rounds and finished with a three-round 220.
Wake Forest led the conference with three All-ACC selections with seven of the league's nine schools having at least one representative.
Duke's Lindy Duncan, a sophomore from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., was named ACC Player fo the Year while teammate Lateitia Beck, a freshman from Casarea, Israel, earned Freshman of the Year honors.
Jan Mann, head coach of the 2011 conference champion North Carolina Tar Heels, was named ACC Coach of the Year.
