
Hayley Brock Joins Terps For 2011

COLLEGE PARK, MD. - University of Maryland women's soccer coach Brian Pensky announced today that Hayley Brock has transferred to play for the Terps in 2011.
Brock, who will have three years of eligibility with the Terps, comes to College Park after spending her freshman season at Penn State. The native of Acton, Mass., played in 21 games for the Nittany Lions making seven starts.
She finished her freshman season at Penn State as the team's fourth leading scorer, with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Brock started her collegiate career by assisting on the game-winning goal at West Virginia on Aug. 20. She ended the season with assists in both of PSU's NCAA tournament games. In between, Brock scored key goals for the Nittany Lions against UVA, UConn and Purdue.
Brock has international experience as a member of the U.S. U-18 Women's National Team pool. She was also a member of the U.S. U-17 National Team that finished second at the 2008 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand.
Prior to college, Brock was a four-year starter for coach Lee Billiard at Acton-Boxborough Regional. She was named the 2009 NSCAA Youth All-American Player of the Year and was a two-time NSCAA Youth All-American. Brock was also an NSCAA High School All-American and an ESPN Rise All-American in 2009 after scoring 31 goals and adding 14 assists for 45 points.
A three-time Lowell Sun Player of the Year and three-time Dual County League first team selection, Brock was the 2007-08 Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year as a sophomore and was the ESPN Rise's Greater Boston Soccer Player of the Year in 2008. For her career she totaled 109 points on 75 goals and 34 assists and was a three-time all-state and All-New England honoree.
Brock also earned recognition for her efforts in the classroom as well, being named to the Boston Glove All-Scholastic Team twice and is a three-time selection to the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Team.
Brock was a multi-year member of Massachusetts and Region I Olympic Development Program teams. She was named an ESP Camp All-Star in 2008.
She was, and continues to be, a member of FC Stars of Massachusetts United under the direction of Jason Dewhurst, which won the Region I Championship in 2007 and 2008, while reaching the semifinals in 2009. Brock's FC Stars won the Disney Soccer Showcase in 2008 and 2010, while reaching the finals in 2009. She was a member of the 2007 Massachusetts State Cup champions and was a finalist in 2008 and 2009. As a U-14 squad, Brock's team won the Massachusetts State Cup, Region I Championship and finished third in the nation at the National Championship. She was also named to the Final IV ECNL U-17 All-Tournament Team in 2009.
Brock is the sister of D.J., and the daughter of Neil and Laura Brock.
