POSITION TITLE: Head Coach – Acrobatics & Tumbling
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

UNIVERSITY: UNIVERSITY: The University of Maryland is one of the more comprehensive and successful athletic programs in the United States with 27 sports and an annual expense budget of approximately $55 million in the context of a distinguished academic University. The University is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and is located on a beautiful campus located eight miles north of the nation's capital and near Columbia, Maryland, which was recently listed as the #2 “Best Place to Live” by Money Magazine. Currently, 92 of the University's academic programs are ranked in their respective Top 25 nationally. The Acrobatics & Tumbling team, formed in the summer of 2003, was the first varsity collegiate program in the country, and competes in the 7 member National Collegiate Acobatic & Tumbling Association (NCATA). The program has a full compliment of coaches, as alloed by the NCAA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Organize and direct all aspects of a highly competitive, Division I Women's Acrobatics & Tumbling program. Specific responsibilities include identifying and recruiting athletically and academically qualified student-athletes; developing the team's competition routine; scheduling and conducting practice sessions and regular season contests; developing, implementing, and enforcing team rules; overseeing the administrative process for team travel, budget, student-athlete eligibility and academic progress; participating in fund raising and public relations activities; and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics program. Knowledge of advanced tumbling skills, and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, NCATA, ACC and University rules and regulations, as well as dedication to the full academic and social development of student-athletes are essential. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Must have at least 3-5 years of demonstrated successful coaching experience in collegiate acrobatics and tumbling, preferably at the Division I collegiate level. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Must be safety certified by AACCA. Strong communication and organizational skills.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
