HANAHAN, S.C. - Senior Jessica Hollandsworth shaved one shot off her first round score carding a 3-over 75 and climbed four spots on the leaderboard for a tie at 55th at the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Golf Club Monday. After day two, Maryland sits in 14th with a 604 (299-305).
Hollandsworth was the low scorer for the Terps in the second round. Freshman Juliet Vongphoumy, juniors Hayley Brown and Christine Shimel are tied with Hollandsworth. All four golfers are at 151. Vongphoumy and Brown fired a 76 and Shimel carded a 78 in round two. Senior Lauren Varnas is at 165 (79-86).
The final round of the Cougar Classic will begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
North Carolina is the leader in the team competition with a 567 (285-282). Florida trails the Tar Heels with a 568 (284-284). Tennessee's Erica Popson leads individuals with a 135 (66-69).
