COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland women's golf team will travel to Simpsonville, Ky., Monday for the annual Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup at Cardinal Club. The tournament, hosted by Louisville, will feature 13 teams and 11 individuals.
Rounds one and two will be played Monday and feature a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.
The Terps opened their season last weekend in Hanahan, S.C., at the Cougar Classic where the Terrapins finished 14th out of 22 teams. Three-time All-ACC performer senior Jessica Hollandsworth finished with a team-best 220 (76-75-69) to tie for 38th place. Freshman Juliet Vongphoumy followed Hollandsworth. Vongphoumy fired a 226 (75-76-75) to finish in a tie for 63rd.
In addition to Hollandsworth, head coach Jason Rodenhaver returns All-ACC selection junior Christine Shimel who carded a 227 (73-78-76) at the Cougar Cup to tie for 67th.
Other teams participating at the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup include: Akron, Cincinnati, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Furman, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, Missouri, Morehead State, N.C. State, Penn State and Xavier.
