COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland water polo team is in the midst of its off-season program. A member of the squad will be writing a blog each week as the team gears up for the 2012 season.
The team completed its second week of off-season workouts Thursday.

Last week at practice we worked exceptionally hard both in and out of the pool. It was the first week with our new weight lifting coach, Brent Kwiatkowski. We as a team are very excited for him to be here and we are very excited for the workouts he has prepared for us. In our weight lifting sessions this week Brent had everyone soaked in sweat and working hard. In the pool, we completed a fitness check and worked on skills.
SAAC representatives Allison Campbell and I reviewed current SAAC activities with the team. The SAAC focus this fall is on community service. We are planning community service activities as a team and look forward to making a difference in the community. Stay tuned for more!
SAAC also announced the ACC SAAC meeting in North Carolina that will take place at the end of the month where two representatives from all ACC schools meet and have an ACC SAAC meeting. I will be one of the representatives from the University of Maryland and am very excited to speak with SAAC representatives from all the other schools and gain ideas for what can be done differently on our campus.
On Saturday the women of Maryland water polo supported the Terps football team for its game against West Virginia. We cheered on our Terps through an awesome comeback that ended up short. It is hard to watch our fellow Terps fall after such a great fight. We all plan to support them again next weekend during their game against Temple.
