
Terps to Play in UNCG Starmount Classic

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's golf team travels to Greensboro, N.C. this weekend to compete in the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic at Starmount Forest Country Club, a par-72 6,295-yard course, beginning Sunday, Oct. 2. It is the first time Maryland has competed in the event which is hosted by UNC Greensboro.
The Terps have two of the top-5 scorers in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Through two events, freshman Juliet Vongphoumy leads Maryland with 75.2 scoring average, the third-best mark in the ACC. Senior Jessica Hollandsworth is right behind Vongphoumy with a 75.4 scoring average, the fourth-best mark in the conference.
The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. with tee times for the first round to be determined Saturday, Oct. 1.
Other teams participating in the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic include: Campbell, Charleston Southern, East Tennessee State, Elon, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Georgia State, High Point, James Madison, UNCG, Western Carolina, Winthrop and Wofford.
