POSITION TITLE: Assistant Athletic Director for Development

UNIVERSITY: The University of Maryland is one of the more comprehensive and successful athletic programs in the United States with 27 sports and an annual expense budget of approximately $55 million in the context of a distinguished academic University. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Development / Executive Director of the Terrapin Club, the Assistant Athletic Director will serve as the lead annual fund fundraiser, will oversee internal operations of the Terrapin Club and will lead a staff of six (6) full-time employees. The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for leading the annual fundraising activities including Terrapin Club annual solicitations, marketing, communications, membership acquisition, gift renewals, events and the stewardship of annual fund donors. The Assistant Athletic Director will also supervise the district fundraising initiative, the Terrapin Club website and all Terrapin Club social media initiatives as well all annual fund benefits fulfillment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in athletic development is required, preferably at NCAA FBS level athletic programs. Demonstrated success in running an annual fund is required, preferably at NCAA FBS level athletic programs. Budgetary and full-time staff oversight experience is required. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required. Managerial and organizational skills are required. Strong computer skills, Paciolan Fund Development, html web development and social media experience is required.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
