COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Sophomore Ali McEvoy recently went to Scotland with the U.S. National Indoor Team and former Terrapin Emma Thomas made England's National Indoor Team.

McEvoy and former Terp Lauren Powley, along with the rest of the U.S. Senior National Indoor Team, traveled to Scotland to compete. There were seven teams in the pool including two club teams from Scotland, (host team Grove Menzieshill and VWS Dundee Wanderers), the Scottish Senior National team and the Scottish Under-21 team, the Wales National Team, and the U.S. Under-21 Team.

The U.S. Senior Team played the Wanderers and the Scottish Senior team in its first two games. The Wanderers and the the Scottish Senior team would go on to play in the tournament final. They ended up beating the U.S. Under-21 team 5-0 for a third-place finish. McEvoy finished with four goals total - one vs. Wales and a hat trick in the third-place game. She added two assists and Powley scored twice herself.

Freshman Katie Gerzabek is also a member of the U.S. Indoor team.

England named its Senior National Team that will compete in the EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship II in Slagelse, Denmark, from Jan. 20-22. Thomas is one of five of the 12-member team that has international indoor experience.
