COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland will introduce its 2012 football recruiting class on Wednesday, Feb. 1 on campus at Stamp Student Union.
Signing Day at the Maryland Football Recruiting Celebration begins at 5 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom, with the official program getting underway at 6 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Maryland Gridiron Network (MGN) and free for 2012 members of the organization, as well as Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium suite holders and select Terrapin Club members.
Head coach Randy Edsall and the staff are in the process of assembling another outstanding class.
"We're very happy where we're at right now," Edsall said. "We're looking forward to last couple weeks of recruiting so we can put the finishing touches on this class."
The atmosphere is expected to be festive with the Mighty Sound of Maryland Marching Band and Terrapin Cheerleaders on hand.
Coaches and current players will be mingling with the crowd at the start of the event. There will also be a rare appearance by the original Testudo, a silent auction, raffle items, Maryland apparel, an upscale tailgate buffet and a cash bar.
The program will feature video footage of each of the recruits and the introduction of the spring enrollees.
