KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The University of Maryland women's golf team is tied for fifth after the first day of the Palmetto Intercollegiate.
The tournament, slated for 54 holes, had play suspended before completion of the second round due to darkness. Play will resume Monday morning at 8:45 a.m.
Juliet Vongphoumy is tied for eighth after shooting an even-par 72, while Christine Shimel is tied for 20th after a 2-over 74.
The Terps, at 10-over as a team, are tied for fifth. Campbell has the 18-hole lead at 6-under par.
Kendall Dusenberry and Heidi Baek are in the top 35 after the first round. Both shot 4-over 76 and are tied for 34th.
