CLEVELAND - After the completion of six NCAA Championships, the University of Maryland ranks 11th in the Division I Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, which were released Thursday.
Maryland currently has 216 points, spurred by third-place finishes in men's soccer and field hockey. North Carolina leads the standings with 292 points, followed by Michigan with 265 and UCLA with 256.
The Terps scored 83 points for both men's soccer and field hockey, and earned 50 points for a 17th-place finish in women's soccer.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women's and 10 men's.
The next Division I fall standings will be released Thursday, December 20.
Standings published midseason are unofficial. Official standings will be published upon the completion of the fall season. Complete standings and the scoring structure can be found on NACDA's website at directorscup.org.
