POSITION VACANCY
POSITION TITLE: Director of Development/ Major Gifts
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics
CATEGORY: Full-time, Exempt (100060)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Development is responsible for developing key relationships with prospects and donors rated with a giving capacity of $50,000 or more. The successful candidate will have a visible role in the athletics development program, working as a member of the development team to meet or exceed annual fund raising goals for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Responsibilities include identifying prospects; creating and implementing cultivation, successful solicitation and stewardship strategies; managing a portfolio of 150-200 major gift prospects and annual fund donors; developing supporting communications and marketing materials; and other duties as assigned. This position involves local and occasional out-of-state travel.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Minimally five (5) years of fundraising experience with a record of progressive responsibility and achievement, preferably in a collegiate athletics environment. Excellent communications and customer service skills required. Basic computer literacy is required, with experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Paciolan preferred. High energy level and the ability to work athletics events during nights and weekends are required.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
