Foxworth Elected NFLPA President

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - Domonique Foxworth, who played football for the University of Maryland in 2001-2004, was recently elected as president of the NFL Players Association.
Currently a free-agent cornerback Foxworth was elected by the Broncos as a player representative. The next year he became the youngest vice president of the NFLPA Executive Committee.
During his four-year career at Maryland, Foxworth was an essential part of a defense that allowed just 18.0 points per game and helped the Terps win an average of nine games per year.
A three-time All-ACC selection, Foxworth became a full-time starter as a sophomore in 2002 and posted a team-high five interceptions while also adding 54 tackles. The Randallstown, Md., native led the ACC and ranked 15th nationally in pass breakups (1.64 per game) in helping Maryland go 11-3 with a 30-3 win over Tennessee in the Peach Bowl.
In 2003, Foxworth was part of a defensive unit that surrendered just 15.8 points per game, a mark that ranked sixth nationally and was the best by a Maryland team since 1980. The Terps finished that season 10-3 with a 41-7 victory over West Virginia in the Gator Bowl.
Foxworth finished his Maryland career with 40 starts, 143 tackles, 33 pass breakups and eight interceptions. He is entering his eighth season in the NFL.
