GREENSBORO, N.C. - Katie Schwarzmann was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday.
Schwarzmann scored six goals and tallied two assists on the week, including a hat trick against No. 6 Virginia. The junior from Sykesville, Md., also racked up two draw controls and caused a turnover to pace the Terps to their first ACC win of the year.
Against Hofstra, Schwarzmann led a tenacious Terrapin effort en route to an 11-4 victory. Maryland will put their 36-game home winning streak on the line against Syracuse on Saturday.
Duke's Kim Wenger was named defensive player of the week.
