COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Zack Bolno has been hired as a senior associate athletics director of media relations and strategic communications at the University of Maryland, athletics director Kevin Anderson announced Monday.

Bolno also worked as the executive director of communications for the Washington Redskins through the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
"The University of Maryland has distinguished itself for its high academic standards as well as its athletic accomplishments. I am excited and appreciative of this tremendous opportunity to be a part of such a storied athletic program," Bolno said. As a partner with the Trifecta Team, Bolno helped conduct market research to secure college bowl schedules and their promotions, as well as launched a successful national publicity campaign for Defense Sport Mouthguard Rinse with spokesperson Joe Theismann.
In the fall of 2010, he began teaching as an adjunct professor of sports management at Georgetown University. Last fall, became an adjunct professor of sport and event business enterprises at George Washington University.
Bolno served at the Redskins from April 2008 through August 2010 and advised in public relations and communications. Prior to his time with the Redskins, Bolno worked at the Wizards for five years.
