Four Terps Honored by NACGC/W

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Rising senior Briana Melander, rising junior Elizabethe Manzi, rising sophomore Shannon Skochko, and recent graduate Becca Pang of the Maryland gymnastics team were named to the 2011-12 National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) Individual Scholastic All-America team, the association announced Wednesday.

Pang, who graduated with a degree in journalism, and Manzi, who is majoring in civil engineering and attained a 3.85 GPA, have been named to the team for the second consecutive year.

Melander, a kinesiology major with a 3.88 GPA, and Skochko, who is currently undecided with a 3.85 GPA, are first-time recipients.

The All-America team is comprised of 471 student-athletes across Division I, II and III who attained a year-long or cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
