Terps Through Two Rounds at Cougar Classic

HANAHAN, S.C. - The University of Maryland women's golf team on Monday completed round two of the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C.
Sophomore Juliet Vongphoumy was the top scorer for the Terps so far, having shot a 75 Sunday and a 73 Monday. At four-over par, she is tied for 60th with one round to play. Christine Shimel fired a 71 on Monday and is six-over for the tournament.
Maryland is 21st in the team standings with the tournament set to conclude tomorrow. Florida's Camilla Hedberg leads the tournament at nine-under par after shooting 69-66. The Gators are also in first place in the team standings at 11-under, followed by Southern Cal at eight-under and Vanderbilt at two-under.
