Terps Climb to #14 in GymInfo Poll

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - After debuting in the GymInfo Top 25 last week, the Maryland gymnastics team climbed three spots to No. 14 on Monday after scoring a 195.975 at Pittsburgh on Saturday. The Terrapins' 195.975 is the 10th highest score in program history.
The Terps continue to be the top-rated team in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL), and lead the conference on vault and beam. In addition, Maryland is ranked seventh nationally on vault, eighth on beam and is tied for 16th on floor.
After tying a school record on beam with a 9.950 on Saturday, Stephanie Giameo is the nation's top-rated gymnast on beam and is ranked second in the all-around in the EAGL.
Katy Dodds and Ally Krikorian tied for first on vault at Pittsburgh with a 9.900. Dodds is tied first in the nation on vault, while Krikorian is tied for 11th nationally. The duo rank first and second, respectively, in the EAGL. Krikorian also ranks second in the EAGL on floor and is tied for 16th nationally.
Following a stellar start to her collegiate career at NC State, Kathy Tang took first on bars and the all-around on Saturday. Tang is tied for 11th nationally on vault and is tied for 19th in the all-around. The freshman leads the EAGL as the top all-around gymnast.
Kesley Cofsky scored career highs on beam and the all-around over the weekend. In the conference, Cofsky is ranked second on beam and eighth on vault.
Maryland welcomes North Carolina to Comcast Center on Saturday at 7 p.m. for its season home opener.
