Baek Takes Third at Pat Bradley Invite Tuesday

Heidi Baek led Maryland with a third-place finish at the 36th annual Pat Bradley Invitational Tuesday at Cypress Links at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.

Baek posted a three-day low score of 70 to finish with a 212 overall. Juliet Vongphoumy tied for 19th with a 222 (72-74-76). Jessica Gregory rebounded to tie for 28th with a 225 (81-71-73) after struggling through the first 18 holes.

Emily Gimpel (71-79-79) and Alexandria Papell (77-77-75) rounded out Maryland's performance in Florida, tying for 43rd.

As a team, the Terps finished fourth with an overall team score of 878, two strokes behind host FIU and five shy of champion Missouri.

“I thought it was our tournament to win but we made some mental errors on the back nine which cost us the tournament,” head coach Jason Rodenhaver said.  “I was really happy for Heidi Baek who had her best finish collegiately and Jessica Gregory continues to play well. We didn't get the production we needed from the top of our order but we'll get ready for Charleston and finish the fall strong.”

Maryland returns to action next weekend at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate in Charleston, S.C., for its final fall tournament of the season.
