COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland junior gymnast Katy Dodds was voted East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week after two first-place finishes on Saturday, the league announced Tuesday.
Against North Carolina Saturday night, Dodds scored a 9.900 on vault for the third consecutive meet and has totaled a 9.900 or above in all four meets this season. In the third rotation, Dodds tallied a season-high 9.850 on floor to tie teammate Ally Krikorian and UNC's Haley Watts for first.
Dodds also placed ninth on bars with a 9.700.
It is the second time this season Dodds has earned EAGL Specialist of the Week, and it marks the fourth consecutive week a Terrapin gymnast has taken the honor. Krikorian won the award the past two weeks.
The 17th-ranked Terps return home Friday night for a quad meet with NC State, New Hampshire and Towson. The meet is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Comcast Center.
