On Palchinsky: Perhaps the Terps' biggest surprise player of 1999 who worked her way into playing minutes early in the season … one of the squad's top corner hitters … tough defender who also makes contributions offensively.
As a sophomore in 1999 Season: Scored nine goals and totaled 18 points in a career high 25 games played … started in 13 games including all seven of Maryland's postseason victories … played a reserve role in three of the first four games and then started 20 of the next 21 games … scored her first career goal in the fourth game of the season against Boston University (Sept. 10) … a career-high two goals came against Ball State (Sept. 19) in the Terrapin Invitational and Old Dominion (Oct. 17) in College Park … her career-high of four total points (two goals in each game) came against Ball State and the second game of the season against Old Dominion … scored her first career game-winning goal against Towson (Sept. 15) … scored what proved to be the game-winner against the Tigers only 39 seconds into the game in the 10-1 victory … scored two second-half goals as the Terps defeated Ball State, 7-2, to take the Terrapin Invitational championship … tallied Maryland's third goal 2:30 into the second half … also added Maryland's fifth goal that increased its lead to 5-2 with 19:31 remaining in the game … important game-winning score came against Old Dominion (Oct. 17) as the Terps avenged their only loss of the 1999 championship season … notched one goal in each half, both on penalty corners … her first goal came with 13:26 remaining in the first half and her second came with 3:07 remaining in the game … marked the second multi-goal game of her career … started all of Maryland's seven postseason games.
