On Smith: After two seasons, she is already one of the top players in the nation has outstanding speed and energy has recorded five two-goal games during her career.
1998 season: A second-team All-America selection named to the All-ACC team a first-team Mid Atlantic Region All-America selection named the ACC Player of the Week for Sept. 1-7 finished second on the team with 10 goals and fifth on the team with 23 points recorded two-goal games against Richmond on Sept. 2, against Bucknell on Oct. 13 and against then ninth-ranked Duke on Oct. 17.
1997 season: A second-team Mid Atlantic Region All-America selection tied for second on the team with three game-winning goals finished fifth on the team with seven goals turned in two-goal performances against Georgetown on Sept. 20 and against Rutgers on Oct. 10.
Before Maryland: A first-team high school All-American as a senior at Selinsgrove High School scored 41 goals her senior season and 27 goals her junior year as a junior and senior, she was selected to the United States Field Hockey Association's (USFHA) Pennsylvania Under-19 Futures team she was also the starting point guard on the Selinsgrove basketball team.
International Experience: A member of the 1999 U.S. National Senior Reserve Team an alternate to the 1998 U.S. World Cup team and a member of the 1998 U.S. Under-23 team.
Personal: Born Jan. 25, 1979 parents are Sharon and Neil Smith Neil was an All-America cornerback at Penn State in 1970 majoring in letters and sciences.
