Before Maryland: Member of the German Under-21 team...missed first four games of Terps' season to play for Germany's U-21 team in the EuroHockey Junior Championships, where team finished fourth...has long been playing in the German national team system with the Under-16 and Under-18 teams...won silver with the German Under-18 team at the European Championships.
As a freshman in 2012: Saw action in 20 of the Terps' games and started in 18...missed Terps' first four games because she was playing for the German Under-21 National Team in the EuroHockey Championships...named to NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region Second Team...made first career start vs. Dartmouth...in that game, she scored first career goal off a penalty corner and notched an assist (Sept. 9)...scored in Terps' 6-0 rout of Temple (Sept. 30)...scored in team's win at #8 Old Dominion (Oct. 12)...scored two goals in Terps' win over UC Davis (Oct. 14)...scored twice off corners in the first half to give Maryland a 3-1 lead on #1 North Carolina (Oct. 22)...notched an assist in the Terps' win over Rutgers (Oct. 26)...scored first career hat trick in Terps' ACC Semifinal win over #6 Virginia (Nov. 2)...also scored in ACC Championship game vs. #1 North Carolina (Nov. 4)...just the fourth player in history to score four goals in a single ACC Tournament, which earned her a spot on the All-ACC Tournament Team.
Personal:Sarah Sprink...parents are Meinold and Elke Sprink...mother played field hockey for the German national team and won a world championship in 1981 and silver in the Olympics in 1984...has three sisters, Julia, Laura and Annika.
