On McShane: Colleen has the experience and ability to affect all aspects of the game. Colleen will be expected to help at the center defender position, lead the counterattack, and be a force on the offensive end of the pool, as well.
As a Senior (2005): Second on the team with 41 goals ... tallied 13 assists and 43 steals in 29 games.
As a Junior (2004): Played in four games ... scored four goals and registered 13 steals and one assist.
Before Maryland: Lettered in water polo for four years at Mother McAuley ... was team MVP in 1998, 1999 and 2000 ... team captain in 1999 and 2001 ... first team all-state in 1999 and 2000 ... all-state honorable mention in 2001 ... Honorable Mention All-American in 1999 ... received the Willie White Outstanding Female Athlete Award ... also played for Ridge Park Club and Chicago Aquatic Polo club.
Personal: Parents are Marilyn and Terrence McShane ... her brother Brian (19) plays water polo for Loyola-Marymount ... also has another brother, Kevin (17) and a sister, Maggie (14) ... recruited by Iona and Purdue ... a kinesiology major.
