The Atlantic Coast Conference
The ACC is one of the nation's strongest conferenences with the Terps being crowed ACC Champions five times (90, 96, 03, 04, 05), and having made seven trips to the NCAA Tournament. Following the 2004 season, the ACC Tournament was discontinued. That year, the Terps closed out the event with a sweep of North Carolina to win their fourth conference title.

Volleyball’s inception as an ACC-sponsored sport came in 1980 and conference play began in 1981.  Now entering its 32nd season of play, the league has seen its member institutions enjoy great success from both academic and athletic perspectives.

Since the 2009 season, the ACC has sent 14 member instiutions to the NCAA Tournament. During that span, one ACC school has reached at least the Regional Finals.

Over the last nine seasons, five Terps have been awarded AVCA All-America status including two-time All-American Rachel Wagener (2004, 2005) and most recently Jade Brown in 2007.

Since 1999, the conference has had at least one player named to the AVCA All-America first, second or third team.
