Troy Demers Bio

Spring 2006: Became an assistant coach for the Terrapins under head coach Jim Laitta.

Fall 2003: Played in all three tournaments this fall ... advanced to the quarterfinals at the 2003 Penn Classic.

Spring 2003: A versatile player who commonly filled the top three spots of the Terps lineup ... finished with a 7-14 record ... partnered up with David Reichsfeld to go 9-3 in doubles matches ... the duo streaked to six wins in row in the middle of the season.

Fall 2002: After having surgery over the summer, Demers improved in each tournament, seeing action in all three.

2002: A solid contributor all season for Coach Laitta's squad ... compiled an 8-8 record playing at the three, four and five positions all season ... finished 7-1 in non-conference action ... teamed with freshman David Reichsfeld to earn nine wins in doubles competition at the third position ... recorded a four match win streak during the season ... member of the team that was awarded the 2002 President's Cup award for having the highest team GPA at the University of Maryland.

Fall 2001: Saw action in all three tournaments in the fall ... won two of three singles matches and teamed up with David Reichsfeld to capture flight title, winning two doubles matches at West Virginia Fall Classic ... captured 15th place at NC State Fall Invitational.

Before Maryland: Attended Annapolis Senior High School where he was the 2000 and 2001 team captain ... was the 2000 Maryland State High School Champion ... named MVP in 1999, 2000 and 2001... four-year letter winner for high school.

Personal: Troy Demers ... son of Jim and Patricia Demers ... brother of Ryan Demers (18) ... enjoys playing guitar, listening to music and hanging out with friends ... recruited by Virginia Tech and Florida Southern College ... majoring in business.
