1968 National Champions
Led by long-time head coach Doyle Royal, Maryland garnered its first national championship in 1968. The Terps were named co-champions alongside Michigan State after playing to a 2-2 tie in the finals in Atlanta. Maryland upended San Jose State, 4-3, in overtime to reach the championship game versus the Spartans.
The Terps finished the 1968 campaign 14-0-1 and won the ACC title with a perfect 5-0 mark.
