On Shanks: Receiver who has been slowed by injury issues in his first few years at Maryland … tall receiver who could become a factor with more experience … tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his right knee in the “Scout Bowl” prior to the NC State game in 2001 … had a menisectomy on his right knee in '02 … posted a 36-inch vertical jump and a 320-pound bench press in spring testing.
