Hey Terp Fans!!
This past week was filled with endless hard work and excitement! Since it was our week off from boot camp, the intensity was amplified at practice, and everyone was feeling strong! It was the perfect break from all of our extra boot camp workouts, so we felt recovered and energized for a 'B1G' week of practice. You could really see the progress of everyone's skills. We even took another big step, by starting half and full routines. The talent on this team is unreal; this is only the beginning of such a 'B1G' year!
For the past two weeks, we have organized into small teams, mixing up all of the different workouts and classes. Each group is in charge of a Thursday practice and lift, or a Sunday 'runday'. My team was responsible for a Thursday practice, and we wanted to do something a little different. For practice, we had each group rotate together, earning points on each event for routines, skills in a row, and cast handstands, to keep our competitive mindsets working. Then, we decided to add a little spin and create a themed lift we called 'Lift in Color'. Everyone wore bright, neon colors and worked out in fun outfits! It was a great lift, and the theme definitely kept it upbeat!
Saturday was game day in College Park! For the Maryland vs. Ohio State football game, we handed out the giveaway, Maryland rally towels, and helped with the gigantic Maryland flags during the game! Unfortunately the Terps lost, but they put up a great fight and will be ready to dominate the next game!
Finally, Sunday was our adventure boot camp day! We were able to work out at the Under Armour Headquarters in Baltimore! We conquered a cardio and conditioning circuit using the indoor and outdoor official Under Armour facilities. It was a beautiful day, especially being on the water! Afterwards, Ferg gave us a tour of the laboratory and then we all went out for a nice lunch! Thank you to all of our coaches, Ferg, and Under Armour for such an awesome day!!
