
Cantu and Terps Ink Three 2015 Signees

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland women's golf team has completed its first signing class under head coach Diana Cantu. The 2015 class includes three talented signees - Ludovica Farina, Brooke Kochevar, and Ludovica Scandroglio.
Ludovica Farina
Siracusa, Italy/Istituto Sacro Cuore HS
Farina Highlights:
- 2012:
o Second at Scottish Under 16 Strokeplay Champ
o First at Italian Ladies Championship
- 2013:
o First at Polish International Open Ladies Amateur Champ
o First Italian Ladies Team championship
- 2014:
o Quarterfinalist at the Girls' British Open Amateur Championship
o Fifth at European Ladies Team Amateur Champ
o Second International Junior Open of Belgium
o 18th in LET Access Series (Professional Tour in Europe)
Cantu on Farina: “I am very excited to have Ludovica Farina join the Maryland family. She is a player with a lot of international experience which will help her come in and make an immediate impact on the team. She has been part of the Italian National Team for several years and knows how to be part of a team. What impressed me the most about her is her tenacious attitude and her motivation to play her best every time she is out on the course. I'm looking forward to watching her develop into a very successful college player.”
Brooke Kochevar
Glen Elynn, Illinois/ Glenbard West High School/Coastal Carolina
Kovechar Highlights:
- High School MVP from 2008-2012
- The first woman golfer at Glenbard West to qualify from state and qualify all four years
- All-state finish in 2012
- Team sectional and individual champion in 2011 season
- At Coastal, tied for third at Wendy's Challenge
- Named Big South Freshman of the week (10/11/2013)
Cantu on Kochevar: “We are very pleased to announce the addition of Brooke Kochevar to our team in January. Brooke spent the last two years at Costal Carolina. She will help add depth to our team this spring. Brooke will excel both on and off the golf course as a result of her work ethic and desire to contribute to our team success. She comes to Maryland as a double major in Psychology and Sociology. We are looking forward to having her join our Terp Family.”
Ludovica Scandroglio
Milan, Italy/Lycée Stendhal de Milan HS
- T4th at the Italian Ladies (over 18) Championship
- Winning the “Gran Premio di Monticello” and gaining a spot in the WAGR
- Winning the “Coppa Italia”
- T9th at U18 Italian Championship
Cantu on Scandroglio: “Ludovica is going to be a great addition for our team. She is a very smart young lady who speaks three different languages. Her work ethic and length off the tee will prove to be major assets to her development as a collegiate golfer. She will continue to gain competitive experience during her time at Maryland and will help us achieve our goals as a program.”
