Box Score ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The second-ranked Maryland field hockey team (17-2, 7-1 B1G) rolled past eighth-seeded Ohio State, 5-0, Thursday in the Terps' first-ever Big Ten Tournament game. Junior Sarah Sprink led the Terrapins with two goals and an assist in the quarterfinal matchup at Michigan.
Senior Maxine Fluharty was named Big Ten Player of the Year, Sprink was named Defensive Player of the Year and Putsch earned the Freshman of the Year honor. Head coach Missy Meharg was named Big Ten Coach of the Year.
Cabrera, Gerzabek and Dessoye were all named to the All-Big Ten Second Team. Fluharty and Sprink were named to the First Team. Junior Alyssa Parker was honored with one of the league's Sportsmanship Awards.
Maryland beat Penn State, 4-3, on Oct. 10 in College Park. Holsboer scored twice in the win, while Dessoye added a goal and an assist.
