COLLEGE PARK, Md. – In front of a packed house in the XFINITY Center Pavilion, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the second annual “Terps Got Talent Student-Athlete Talent Show” Wednesday evening. The show, in partnership with Terp Thon, benefitted the Children's National Health System in Washington, D.C.
The night featured 15 events with student-athlete representatives from 14 intercollegiate teams. The acts ranged from musical numbers to dance routines and skits. The event was emceed by Pat Cole (men's track & field), Hope Gouterman (women's soccer) and Jeff Poulard, the assistant director of compliance.
“The night went really well,” said Dani Kram, SAAC president and member of the gymnastics team. “I'm glad there was a buzz from last year and that people were excited for this year. We had a packed Pavilion, so it was a great atmosphere. It's great to see a different side of athletes outside of competition.”
The talent show was attended by a capacity crowd, and Kram, alongside other SAAC representatives, presented a check for $3,000 to the Children's National Health System at the end of the night.
The celebrity judges included former women's basketball standout Crystal Langhorne, Maryland alumnus Barry Gossett and The Crew president Dylan French.
Cole and Alexandra Cimino of the men's and women's track & field teams were crowned the winners after a moving acoustic duet of “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5.
