Hey Terp fans!
This past week has been so packed and exciting! The GymTerps have been busy both in school and in the gym. It was the week before spring break so everyone had midterms and papers, but we didn't let that affect us in the gym. The team had such an unbelievable week of practice leading up to our Senior Night. We worked extra hard to send off our seniors with a big win. We no longer worried about making our routines, our focus was on perfecting them. Our motto for the week was “life is good” and with the warm weather, amazing team, and celebrating our seniors, life really is good!
Saturday was a very exciting day. Some of the Junior GymTerps came and got to hang out with the team and practice with us! They got to experience first hand what it is like to be a GymTerp. They did warm up and some of the events with us, and even got to learn some of our pre-meet rituals. We all got to talk and laugh and just get to know each other better. It was such a fun day hanging out with them!
After practice on Saturday, the team went to celebrate Erinn's baby shower. It was so perfect and made everyone even more excited for baby Skylar's arrival. There were games, food, and presents and everything looked picture perfect. A big thanks to Nan Black and everyone else who was involved with the baby shower because they did an amazing job!
On Sunday we had our Senior Night against our rival, West Virginia. It was an emotional night for the GymTerps as we celebrated Jessie Black and Lizzy Manzi. Although there were many emotions, we were able to direct them into our routines and come off with a big win. After the meet we had a nice ceremony acknowledging the seniors as well as alumni. We couldn't be more proud of Jessie and Lizzy and we aren't ready to see them leave!
Thanks for reading!
Leah
