Director of Development

The Director of Development is responsible for developing key relationships with prospects and donors rated with a giving capacity of $50,000 or more. The successful candidate will have a visible role in the athletics development program, working as a member of the development team to meet or exceed annual fund raising goals for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Responsibilities include identifying prospects; creating and implementing cultivation, successful solicitation and stewardship strategies; managing a portfolio of 150-200 major gift prospects and annual fund donors; developing supporting communications and marketing materials; direct involvement with all sales, renewal and operations of Tyser Tower; sports specific fundraising responsibilities as assigned; and other duties as assigned. This position involves local and occasional out-of-state travel.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum two (2) years of fundraising experience with a record of progressive responsibility and achievement. High energy level and the ability to work athletics events during nights and weekends are required. Minimum two (2) years of fundraising experience with a record of progressive responsibility and achievement, preferably within a collegiate athletics environment.
