Director of Video Services

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletics Director for Digital Media & Creative Services, the Director of Video Services will serve as the departmental lead for all video production and broadcasting with the primary purpose of enhancing the Maryland Athletics brand. The Director will supervise the daily operations and staff of the video services department including the Video Operations Manager (TerpVision), Video Production Coordinator (BTDN/TerpsTV), Olympic Sports Coordinator, contract employees and student interns. The Director will serve as the primary video contact with the Big Ten Network (BTN) and oversee daily management and integration of the BTN partnership (TV & digital network broadcasts, Student U productions and on-campus studio operations). This position is also responsible for the production of TerpVision videoboard show content and oversees the production of TV shows and video content intended for umterps.com and social media integration. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Produce and manage all video needs for external operations including team intro videos, commercials, crowd prompts, animations, sponsor video features, promotional viral videos, highlight videos, special event projects and graphic packages; Olympic sports' coaches video activities; manage video content on umterps.com and the Maryland Athletics' YouTube Channel; oversee audio/video infrastructure installations and maintenance including videoboards, control room and production equipment; manage the video internship program; manage the archiving of video content including logging and storage of digital files; and administer the video services unit budget.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of broadcasting and video production is required. Must have at least 5 years experience with arena/stadium videoboards and control room equipment. Must be proficient with PC and Mac OS, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Media Encoder), camera operations (HD & SD), microphones, lighting and related production equipment. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of broadcasting and video production at the NCAA FBS level is preferred.
