Director of Compliance

The Director of Compliance works cooperatively with the Athletics Department staff, coaches, student-athletes, and prospective student-athletes and various constituents outside the Athletics Department to administer NCAA and Big Ten regulations. This position serves in a valuable role as part of the Athletics Department and contributes to the overall progression of its compliance services. Responsibilities include: serving as a primary contact for interpretations on NCAA and Big Ten rules; overseeing monitoring of recruiting, countable athletically related activities, playing and practice seasons, and sports camps and clinics; assisting with developing and implementing policies and procedures, assessing initial and continuing eligibility, administering athletically related financial aid, submission of waivers and reports to the NCAA and Big Ten, and educating coaches, student-athletes, staff, and supporters; and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of NCAA Division I compliance experience required. Candidate must demonstrate outstanding administrative and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision. Candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write well and present compliance-related information to various constituents. A minimum of three (3) years of NCAA compliance experience at the FBS level preferred. Extensive experience providing NCAA rules interpretations strongly preferred. Familiarity with ACS Athletics (or similar software), LSDBi, and NCAA Compliance Assistant is also preferred.
