Each week during the 2014-15 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is senior Marcus Leak of the Maryland football team.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior wide receiver Marcus Leak has been named the Solomon Eye Terp of the Week for his impressive showing in a game against South Florida last Saturday. Leak tallied 72 receiving yards and two touchdowns, a career high.
Leak opened up the scoring for the Terps with a 10-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Brown with 7:02 left in the first quarter. Then, Leak caught a ball later in the quarter and took it 44 yards to the end zone for his second touchdown of the game.
After the game, Leak said that he wanted the team to jump out to an early lead and after the first touchdown “[he] was just trying to set the pace.” However, the team “had to keep pushing through the whole game.” The talented junior finished second on the team with 23 receptions and 393 yards during his sophomore season in College Park and hopes to remain in an upward trend this season.
The strong, speedy Charlotte, N.C. native averaged 17.1 yards per catch in 2012 and believes the team “[has] a lot of potential as an offense that [it hasn't] reached yet.” Leak nearly tied his career-long reception of 47 yards (set in a 2012 contest against NC State) this past weekend and plans to come even closer throughout the season.
The team returns to action this weekend at home against West Virginia and looks to improve its record to 3-0 on the season. The Terps defeated the Mountaineers, 37-0, last season at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
