
Vongphoumy Paces Terps Thru One Round at Cougar

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Juliet Vongphoumy led the Terps with a 72 as they enter day two of the Cougar Classic tied for 17th after round one action at Yeamans Halls Club.
Vongphoumy is tied for 19th after shooting par in the opening round, which was delayed by an hour due to weather. The senior posted birdies on holes No. 2, 9 and 18.
In her first collegiate tournament, Kavita Sehmi, is tied for 57th after shooting a +3 (75). Sehmi notched birdies on holes No. 5, 10, 16 and 18.
Jessica Gregory ended day the tied for 80th after shooting two birdies on holes No. 9 and 18 to finish with a +5 (77).
Panitta Yusabai finished Sunday tied for 99th with an 80 and Alexandria Papell finished tied for 109th with an 81.
Wake Forest leads the field with a -6 (282). The Terrapins scored a +16 (304).
Second round play begins for the Terps at 8 a.m. on Monday.
