The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an experienced athletics professional to serve as the Senior Associate Athletic Director/CFO. This individual will serve as the primary administrator in command with responsibility for overseeing the financial operations of the Department under the philosophy and directives of the Athletic Director (AD). The CFO will provide the Athletic Director with frequent assessment regarding new and ongoing financial issues. This individual will lead and direct the maintenance of Athletics budgets, finance records and financial reporting. He/she will be responsible for accounting associated with foundation accounts, endowments and bonds. Assist with special projects as requested by the AD, and serve on selected campus, conference and NCAA committees at the direction of the AD. Will also have overall responsibility for at least one major unit within Athletics (i.e. Human Resources, Special Events, etc.) and/or at least one varsity team. Individuals with experience as a senior-level athletics administrators who have previously or currently serve in the role of Chief Financial Officer, or a similarly titled position are encouraged to apply. The ability to move with alacrity and wisdom, while modeling an excellent work ethic, along with senior-level supervisory skills and passion for the success of Maryland Athletics is of paramount importance.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a senior level administrator in intercollegiate athletics, preferably at the NCAA Division I FBS level. Must possess an in-depth understanding of the dynamics and complexity of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics with regard to internal operations as well as the numerous external stakeholders and public. Masters degree preferred.
