IT Operations Specialist

The IT Operations Specialist will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Help Desk. Support for Intercollegiate Athletics Game Day Operations which includes setup and configuration of stat monitors, printers, wireless connectivity, and provide basic troubleshooting for internal and external customers during the sporting events requiring some evening and weekend work as needed. This position will also focus heavily on application lifecycle management, including testing, deployment, training and documentation of both existing and newer application services; this will include Software as a Service (SaaS) products like Box and Adobe's Creative Cloud. Additional responsibilities include: the administration and internal support of Intercollegiate Athletics computer desktops (PCs/Macs), printers, servers, and related equipment; tasks include end user support, asset management, license tracking, desktop computer maintenance, upgrades and configurations.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an information technology related field or equivalent experience, education, and/or training in desktop support. 1-3 years of experience installing and configuring Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office, Mac OS X, system security and virus protection software is required. Experience with Excel . Must have experience with Help Desk ticketing systems. Must be able to provide excellent customer service. Must be motivated and passionate about incorporating new technologies to enable the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to be innovative and competitive. Experience working Athletics or Higher Education preferred. Also preferred: knowledge of Spiceworks or similar Help Desk ticketing systems; experience with Web CMS solutions, Excel a/o SQL, LMS solutions, and/or supporting Mobile devices including Android, IOS and Windows; a background in Communication and Marketing (audio, video, social media), and video technology; knowledge of Paciolan, StatCrew, Daktronics, Stat Broadcast and other intercollegiate athletic software; as well as strong administrative skills. MCP, A+, or equivalent certifications preferred.
