
Terps Host Purdue In Thursday Night Showdown

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's soccer team (4-4-2) host a pair of conference foes this week with Purdue (Thursday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.) and Indiana (Sunday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.) coming to Ludwig Field.
• The Purdue matches will be streamed on BTN2Go.com and the BTN2Go app, which is the official app of the Big Ten Network. The Purdue match will be a BTN Plus production and will require an additional subscription. Fans can access all Big Ten content on BTN Plus for $119.95 per year or a $14.95 monthly subscription. A Maryland School Pass for BTN Plus, which includes all Terrapin contests, home and away, on BTN Plus for $79.95 per year or for a $9.95 monthly subscription. There is no video coverage for the Maryland-Indiana match.
• Maryland is 4-2-2 in its past eight matches, including a 2-0 shutout of No. 25 Rutgers in its first-ever Big Ten competition on Sept. 12. After dropping a 1-0 decision to Michigan on Sept. 19, the Terrapins battled Michigan State to a 0-0 draw on Sept. 19. The Terrapins won their first-ever Big Ten road match with a 1-0 shutout of Iowa on Sept. 25, but then suffered a 4-3 loss in overtime at Nebraska on Sept. 28. Senior Shade Pratt took over sole possession of the team points lead with her two goals last week and now has six points in 2014. Junior Shannon Collins has a team-best five assists. Overall, 10 different Terps have scored goals in 2014. Junior Rachelle Beanlands has started all 10 games in goal and has a 1.05 goals-against average with four shutouts.

Parking Information
• General Information: After 4 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends, there is no charge for parking in Lots Z1 or 1b or in Regents Drive Garage. Lots R2 and R3 are limited to vehicles displaying current valid permits for the respective lots at all times. The Stadium Drive Garage is closed on weekends.

Scouting the boilermakers
• Purude has a 6-5-1 overall record in 2014 with a 2-4-0 mark in conference play. The Boilermakers dropped home matches to Minnesota on Sept. 26 and to Wisconsin on Sept. 28 by identical 1-0 finals.
• Sophomore forward Maddy Williams leads the offense with 15 points on five goals and five assists. Freshman midfielder Erika Arkans is just one goal behind with four to go along with one assist for nine points. Sophomore keeper Jordan Ginther has started five matches this season, including the last two for the Boilermakers, and has a 0.68 goals-against average with one shutout.
• Head Coach Robert Klatte is in his 17th season as the head coach at Purdue and has a 173-135-31 (.556) record. Overall, he has been a head coach for 20 years with a 194-170-35 (.530) record.
previewing the hoosiers
• Indiana is 5-7-0 overall this season and is 1-5-0 so far in conference play. The Hoosiers play at Rutgers on Thursday, Oct. 2 before traveling to College Park for Sunday's match.
• Junior midfielder Jessie Bujouves leads the offense with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Freshman forward Kayla Smith and senior midfielder Jordan Woolums share the team lead with three assists. Junior Sarah Stone has started 11 of the 12 games for Indiana in goal and has posted a 1.47 goals-against average with a pair of shutouts.
• Head Coach Amy Berbary is in her second season as the head coach at Indiana and has compiled a 20-14-1 (.586) record.

132 And Counting at Ludwig Field
• The Terps won their 100th match at Ludwig Field with a 6-0 victory over Iona on Aug. 20, 2010. Since its opening in 1995, Ludwig Field has proved to be a tremendous home-field advantage for the Terps women's soccer team. • With her assist in the Terps' 4-3 OT loss at Nebraska on Sept. 28, junior Shannon Collins moved into a tie for 18th on the all-time assists list with Michelle Deville, who also had 13 assists from 1994-97.
Terps In Overtime
• Maryland has played in 101 overtime games in its 28-year history. The Terps' all-time record in those overtime games is 29-27-45 (.509).
• This season, Maryland is 0-1-2 in overtime with the a 1-1 draw at Navy on Sept. 8, a 0-0 tie vs. Michigan State on Sept. 21 and a 4-3 loss in the first OT at Nebraska on Sept. 28. In 2013, the Terps were 1-1-0 in overtime games, winning 2-1 at Clemson on Sept. 12 and falling to Boston College, 1-0, on Oct. 27.
Non-Conference Success
• Dating back to its 10-0 win over Mount St. Mary's in 2008, Maryland has lost only six times in its last 49 matches vs. non-conference opponents. The Terps have outscored its non-conference opposition 130-31 in those 49 matches.
• The Terps recorded 20 straight wins over non-conference foes before tying Georgetown, 1-1, in second round of the NCAA tournament in 2010. Maryland is now 36-8-5 (.786) in its last 49 non-conference games. The Terps had been unbeaten in 31-straight non-conference games prior to losing, 1-0, at Oklahoma State in the Sweet 16 of the 2011 NCAA tournament.
Maryland In Ludwig Field Openers
• Ludwig Field opened in 1995 and Maryland has enjoyed remarkable success at the venue (see below). But even that success pales in comparison to how the Terps have fared in home openers at Ludwig Field.
• Since 1995, Maryland is an astounding 15-2-3 (.825) in home openers at Ludwig Field. All-time, including the first eight seasons when the Terps played at Denton Field, Maryland is 18-7-3 (.696) in home openers.
• Maryland is 7-0-0 in home openers since 2008 and has outscored its opposition 32-0 in those six matches. Prior to that the Terps were 0-0-3 from 2005-07 with 0-0 double-OT ties against Towson in 2005 and 2006 and Eastern Kentucky in 2007.
• The only two losses the Terps have sustained in home openers at Ludwig Field came in 2003 (a 3-0 loss to No. 13 Penn State) and 2004 (a 2-0 loss to Virginia Tech).
Maryland Picked Third In Preseason Big Ten Poll
• Maryland was picked to finish third in the Big Ten when the conference released its annual preseason coaches' poll on Aug. 13. Penn State, which has won the last 15 of the last 16 Big Ten titles, was picked to finish first, followed by Wisconsin and the Terrapins. Nebraska, the defending Big Ten champion, and Michigan, which advanced to the Elite Eight in the 2013 NCAA tournament, round out the top five.
