
Terps Travel to Michigan for Midweek Matches

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team travels to Michigan for two midweek matches at Michigan State and No. 23 Michigan.
• The Terps (10-10, 0-6 B1G) face the Spartans (11-6, 3-3) in Jenison Field House Wednesday at 7 p.m. The match will be stream on BTN Plus and live stats will be available here.
• Maryland faces the Wolverines (13-4, 3-3) Thursday in the Cliff Keen Arena at 7 p.m. Live stats will be available here. Michigan will be the fourth ranked opponent in five matches to take on the Terps.

Scouting the maryland terrapins
• The Terps fell to then-No. 11 Minnesota and then-No. 16 Wisconsin last weekend in two hard-fought matches.
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott leads Maryland with 3.21 kills per set while junior middle blocker Ashlyn MacGregor is averaging 0.97 blocks per set.
• Maryland has moved to a 5-1 formation with junior Whitney Craigo as the starting setter. Craigo leads the team with 7.56 assists per set.
• Senior DS/libero Amy Dion leads the Terps with 3.73 digs per set.
• The Terps lead the Big Ten in service aces per set.
Scouting the michigan state spartans
• The Spartans split matches last weekend, falling in four sets to No. 4 Nebraska before sweeping Iowa.
• Brooke Kranda leads Michigan State's offense with 3.39 kills per set. Six Spartans are averaging at least 2.34 kills per set this season as Michigan State leads the conference with 14.33 kills per set.
• Megan Tompkins is averaging 1.16 blocks per set. Abby Monson leads the team with 3.59 digs per set.
• The Spartans hold an 3-1 all-time advantage over the Terps. This is Maryland's first trip to East Lansing since 1995.
Scouting the michigan wolverines
• The Wolverines split their matches last weekend, winning in five sets at Iowa before falling in four at No. 4 Nebraska.
• Abby Cole paces the Michigan offense with 2.92 kills per set on a .388 hitting percentage. Cole also leads the team with 1.18 blocks per set. Cole ranks fourth in the conference in hitting percentage and eighth in blocks.
• Carly Warner leads the Wolverines with 7.16 assists per set while Tiffany Morales paces the team with 3.44 digs per set. Michigan is second in the Big Ten with 15.65 digs per set.
• The Terps are 0-6 all-time against Michigan. This will be the second all-time meeting in Ann Arbor.
terps set xfinity center pavilion attendance record
• Maryland set a new XFINITY Center Pavilion attendance record with 1,752 fans as the Terps fell to No. 9 Illinois last Friday.
• The previous attendance record was set on Sept. 16, 2006. The new attendance record ranks fourth in Maryland history.
• Since Steve Aird became head coach prior to the 2014 season, the Terps have set five of the top-10 attendance records in program history.
elliott leads maryland in b1g play
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott has posted dominant performances as the Terps continue through Big Ten play.
• Elliott posted 17 kills on .213 hitting and made four blocks against Indiana last Friday. She notched a season-high 21 kills and a career-high five service aces against then No. 18 Purdue the following day.
• Against then-No. 9 Illinois, Elliott posted 12 kills and served three aces in the first conference match of the season. The Winson Salem, N.C., native followed it up with another 12 kills and two blocks vs. Northwestern.
• Through four conference matches, Elliott is averaging 4.43 kills (2nd in Big Ten) per set on .297 hitting. Elliott has 10 service aces in four Big Ten matches and leads the conference (0.7 aces per set).

• The Terps have proven one of the best in the Big Ten in serving, posting 1.52 service aces per set. Maryland leads the conference in service aces.
• Senior DS/libero Amy Dion and freshman setter Abigail Bentz are each averaging 0.28 aces per set, good for eighth and ninth in the Big Ten, respectively.
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott leads the Big Ten in conference aces per set, averaging 0.75 (20 total aces) through six matches. Freshman libero Kelsey Wicinski ranks third in conference play with 0.35 aces per set while Dion ranks fifth with 0.30 per set.

• Maryland has the third most difficult in the nation as the Terps compete in conference play.
• The Terps' conference opponents posted a 114-31 record in nonconference play, good for a .786 win percentage.
•The Big Ten features 10 programs either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The conference has three top-10 teams, including No. 1 Penn State, No. 4 Nebraska and No. 7 Illinois.

• The Terps reached 10 wins at the Kristen Dickmann Invitational, matching the team's 2014 win total.
• Maryland began the 2015 season with nine straight wins, marking the team's best start to a season since 2005.
