
Terps Face Rutgers in Home and Home

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Coming off facing four ranked opponents in seven days, the Maryland volleyball team competes in a home-and-home with Rutgers this Wednesday and Saturday.
• The Terps (10-12, 0-8 B1G) and Scarlet Knights (3-17, 0-8) battle for each team's first conference win in the College Ave. Gym in Piscataway, N.J., Wednesday at 7 p.m. Live stats will be available here.

LAST TIME OUT
• Maryland traveled to Michigan State and No. 23 Michigan last week, battling both teams before ultimately falling in four sets to the Spartans and three to the Wolverines. The Terps have faced five straight opponents who were either ranked or received votes in the AVCA Coaches Poll at the time of competition. The Terps' trip to the Great Lakes State pushed Maryland to four matches in seven days.
• Sophomore middle blocker Hailey Murray paced the Terps against Michigan State with 10 kills on .333 hitting. Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott led Maryland with 16 kills on a .444 clip with no errors.
• The Terps continued their strong serving against Michigan State, posting eight service aces in the match. Freshman Abigail Bentz led the match with three aces while freshman Kelsey Wicinski posted two.
Scouting the rutgers scarlet knights
• Rutgers also competed against No. 23 Michigan and Michigan State last week. The Scarlet Knights pushed the Wolverines to four sets before falling to the Spartans in three sets. Three Scarlet Knights posted double-digit kills against Michigan while Meme Fletcher led the team with 10 against Michigan State.
• The Scarlet Knights are led by sophomore Meme Fletcher, who is averaging 3.85 kills per set. Mikaela Matthews (2.39 kills/s) and Lauren Cloyd (2.35 kills/s) have provided back up on offense.
• Rutgers holds an 11-10 all-time record against Maryland. The Terps took both matches against the Scarlet Knights in five sets last season.
terps set xfinity center pavilion attendance record
• Maryland set a new XFINITY Center Pavilion attendance record with 1,752 fans as the Terps fell to No. 9 Illinois last Friday.
• The previous attendance record was set on Sept. 16, 2006. The new attendance record ranks fourth in Maryland history.
• Since Steve Aird became head coach prior to the 2014 season, the Terps have set five of the top-10 attendance records in program history.
elliott leads maryland in b1g play
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott has posted dominant performances as the Terps continue through Big Ten play.
• Elliott posted 17 kills on .213 hitting and made four blocks against Indiana. She notched a season-high 21 kills and a career-high five service aces against then No. 18 Purdue the following day.
• Against then-No. 9 Illinois, Elliott posted 12 kills and served three aces in the first conference match of the season. The Winson Salem, N.C., native followed it up with another 12 kills and two blocks vs. Northwestern.
• Through eight conference matches, Elliott is averaging 3.96 kills per set (fourth in Big Ten) on .297 hitting. Elliott leads the conference with 17 service aces, good for 0.6 per set in Big Ten matches.

• The Terps have proven one of the best in the Big Ten in serving, posting 1.52 service aces per set. Maryland leads the conference in service aces.
• Freshman setter Abigail Bentz is averaging 0.30 aces per set on the season, good for sixth in the Big Ten. Senior DS/libero Amy Dion ranks 10th in the conference with 0.26 aces per set.
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott leads the Big Ten in conference aces per set, averaging 0.60 (17 total aces) through eight matches. Freshman libero Kelsey Wicinski ranks seventh in conference play with 0.30 aces per set.
elliott, dion reach career milestones
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott posted her 1,000 career kill against Morgan State in the Terps' season opener vs. Morgan State. Elliott ranks sixth all-time in Maryland history with 1,255 career kills.
• Senior DS/libero Amy Dion reached the 1,000 digs mark at Oklahoma. Dion currently ranks eighth all-time in the Maryland record books with 1,093 digs.

• Maryland has the third most difficult in the nation as the Terps compete in conference play.
• The Terps' conference opponents posted a 114-31 record in nonconference play, good for a .786 win percentage.
•The Big Ten features nine programs either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The conference has four top-10 teams, including No. 3 Nebraska, No. 5 Penn State, No. 6 Ohio State and No. 9 Minnesota.

• The Terps reached 10 wins at the Kristen Dickmann Invitational, matching the team's 2014 win total.
• Maryland began the 2015 season with nine straight wins, marking the team's best start to a season since 2005.
