
Terps Travel to Iowa, #9 Nebraska

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team travels to Iowa and No. 9 Nebraska this Friday and Saturday for two Midwest matches.
• The Terps (11-13, 1-9 B1G) and Hawkeyes (10-13, 0-10) tangle Friday at 8 p.m. ET in the Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The match will be live streamed on BTN Plus and live stats will be available here.
• Maryland has a quick turnover as it takes on ninth-ranked Nebraska (16-4, 7-3) in the Devaney Sports Center Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. The Terps and Huskers match will be live streamed on BTN Plus while live stats will be available here.
LAST TIME OUT
• Maryland picked up its first Big Ten win of the season with a four-set victory over Rutgers last Saturday.
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott posted the first double-double of her career with 19 kills and 10 digs vs. the Scarlet Knights.
• Junior setter Whitney Craigo had a strong outing with a career-high six kills and a career-high six blocks on top of 39 assists and three service aces. Freshman libero Kelsey Wicinski set a personal best and led the match with 23 digs.
• With the win over Rutgers, the Terps reached 11 victories on the season, surpassing their 2014 win total.
Scouting the iowa hawkeyes
• The Hawkeyes fell in three sets to No. 16 Wisconsin and No. 9 Minnesota last week in Iowa City. Iowa is looking for its first conference win of the season.
• Four Hawkeyes are averaging more than 2.10 kills per set, led by 3.36 from Lauren Brobst. Molly Kelly leads Iowa with 21 service aces and 0.27 aces per set while Annika Olsen leads the team with 4.76 digs per set.
• Iowa ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 1.16 service aces per set. Setter Loxley Keala ranks fifth in the conference with 11.00 assists per set.
• The Hawkeyes are 2-0 all-time against Maryland with both meetings coming last season. Iowa won the first meeting in three sets on Oct. 31 before taking a five-set win on Nov. 26.
Scouting the nebraska cornhuskers
• The then-No. 3 Cornhuskers fell in four sets to No. 9 Minnesota and No. 16 Wisconsin last week.
• The Huskers lead the Big Ten with 16.31 digs per set and 14.32 kills per set, which ranks 12th nationally. Nebraska ranks fourth with 2.69 blocks per set.
• Libero Justine Wong-Orantes is averaging 4.69 digs per set, which ranks third in the Big Ten. All-American Kadie Rolfzen leads the team with 3.20 kills per set while adding 2.73 digs per set. Middle blocker Amber Rolfzen leads the Big Ten and ranks 11th nationally with 1.55 blocks per set while setter Kelly Hunter ranks second in the conference with 11.43 assists per set.
• Nebraska is 5-0 all-time against Maryland. The Cornhuskers won both meetings last year. The Terps were able to take a set off Nebraska on Nov. 16 after falling in three sets on Nov. 1.

• The Terps will have some company in Iowa City this weekend as they're one of three Maryland programs competing at Iowa.
• The Maryland football team faces the 10th-ranked Hawkeyes Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
• The sixth-ranked Maryland field hockey team closes its regular season Saturday at Iowa at 1 p.m. ET.
terps set xfinity center pavilion attendance record
• Maryland set a new XFINITY Center Pavilion attendance record with 1,752 fans as the Terps fell to No. 9 Illinois last Friday.
• The previous attendance record was set on Sept. 16, 2006. The new attendance record ranks fourth in Maryland history.
• Since Steve Aird became head coach prior to the 2014 season, the Terps have set five of the top-10 attendance records in program history.
elliott leads maryland in b1g play
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott has posted dominant performances as the Terps continue through Big Ten play.
• Elliott posted 17 kills on .213 hitting and made four blocks against Indiana. She notched a season-high 21 kills and a career-high five service aces against then No. 18 Purdue the following day.
• Against then-No. 9 Illinois, Elliott posted 12 kills and served three aces in the first conference match of the season. The Winson Salem, N.C., native followed it up with another 12 kills and two blocks vs. Northwestern.
• Through eight conference matches, Elliott is averaging 3.96 kills per set (fourth in Big Ten) on .297 hitting. Elliott leads the conference with 17 service aces, good for 0.6 per set in Big Ten matches.

• The Terps have proven one of the best in the Big Ten in serving, posting 1.48 service aces per set. Maryland leads the conference in service aces.
• Freshman setter Abigail Bentz is averaging 0.27 aces per set on the season, good for seventh in the Big Ten. Freshman libero Kelsey Wicinski ranks 15th in the conference with 0.25 aces per set.
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott leads the Big Ten in conference aces per set, averaging 0.50 (18 total aces) through 10 matches. Wicinski ranks sixth in conference play with 0.30 aces per set.
elliott, dion reach career milestones
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott posted her 1,000 career kill against Morgan State in the Terps' season opener vs. Morgan State. Elliott ranks sixth all-time in Maryland history with 1,255 career kills.
• Senior DS/libero Amy Dion reached the 1,000 digs mark at Oklahoma. Dion currently ranks eighth all-time in the Maryland record books with 1,093 digs.
terps face tough road in the big ten
• Maryland has the third most difficult in the nation as the Terps compete in conference play.
• The Terps' conference opponents posted a 114-31 record in nonconference play, good for a .786 win percentage.
•The Big Ten features nine programs either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The conference has four top-10 teams, including No. 3 Nebraska, No. 5 Penn State, No. 6 Ohio State and No. 9 Minnesota.

• The Terps reached 10 wins at the Kristen Dickmann Invitational, matching the team's 2014 win total.
• Maryland began the 2015 season with nine straight wins, marking the team's best start to a season since 2005.
